Meet the duo Frances and Luke
As the Canadian woman strapless champion and finishing 4th in the world for Frances rookie year on the GKA kitesurfing world tour in 2019, and improving her world ranking 2nd year on tour as World #3.
Frances is a qualified IKO kitesurfing instructor and Pro Team rider for Ocean Rodeo. Frances is well known around the world for not only her accomplishments but also her positive attitude. Frances has earned nicknames such as "stoked" and "smiley" as her enthusiasm and outgoing attitude is a pleasure to be around. Frances is always first to volunteer for events to chat with kids at local schools worldwide or spend time signing hats, always going above and beyond to share the stoke of kiting both locally and globally.
Luke learned to kite in 2013 with the idea of surfing in the morning and kiting in the afternoon when the wind came up as the wind would build and destroy the surf. Since then, kiting has become much more than just an afternoon sport. It has become Lukes's primary sport, a lifestyle, and a business. Luke developed a passion for not only getting on the water himself, but also helping others learn to kite by creating online video tutorials to help other kiters, something that was not available back in 2013. Luke is a qualified Kitesurfing instructor and competitor on the world tour.

The obvious starting point was to mash both of our names together "Lances..." Flukes! We laughed and agreed Flukes was the name. Years later while starting our kitesurfing Youtube channel, Flukes had more meaning than just our names. It was part of our goal to help kiters learn new skills and tricks. We all know the stoke in landing a new trick for the first time... A Fluke at first. Our goal was to take those kitesurfing flukes and help people turn them into consistency by providing video tutorials, and so, "Flukes Kitesurfing" became our Kitesurfing Brand.
Kitesurfing is our passion, in creating Flukes we strive for the following:
